ORBIT

Year / 2017

Client / ISSEY MIYAKE INC.

For window displays of Issey Miyake Men / Aoyama and Kobe, Kosuke handcrafted huge sculptures out of rice glue, sawdust and jute.

The black winding sculptures were inspired by trails of orbital motions of the stars because the theme of the brand for new season was starry night in a desert.

We shared a feeling that wasting a lot of materials for a temporary display like fast fashion was a wrong act, so we decided to only use environmentally friendly materials to make the display.

This was a collaborative project with a Japanese architect Momoko Kudo.
